Important note: This calendar concerns only the 3 major activities of the National Bureau. It does not take into account the activities of the Regional Branches, which can however benefit from coaching, technical support and guidance from the National Bureau upon request.
Main theme 2026: Eye Health + Inclusive Sport at the heart of all our actions.

ACTIVITY 1 – SATURDAY OCTOBER 10, 2026 | 10AM-5PM | NABC HEADQUARTERS YAOUNDE
JOINT CELEBRATION: WORLD SIGHT DAY + WORLD WHITE CANE DAY

Theme: “Love your eyes, move your body, become autonomous with your cane”

Agenda:

  • 10am-11:30am: Eye Health Component – Talk with ophthalmologist: screening, prevention of avoidable blindness, diabetes and vision. Free screenings.
  • 11:30am-1pm: Inclusive Sports Component – Autonomy demonstrations + Initiation to Goalball, Torball and guided athletic walking with white cane.
  • 1pm-5pm: NABC Fraternity Barbecue – Cohesion moment.

ACTIVITY 2 – SATURDAY NOVEMBER 28, 2026 | 3PM-6PM | HEADQUARTERS OR PARTNER HALL
STRATEGIC RETREAT: 2026 REVIEW / 2027 PROJECTION

Theme: “Building 2027 with clear vision and a healthy body”

Relaxed 3-hour format (20-25 pers.) Bureau, Managers and Benefactors:

  • 3pm-3:40pm: Eye Health & Sports Component – Staff health review: ophthalmology consultations of the year + presentation of the NABC Eye Health and Sports Plan 2027 (2 adapted sports sessions/month)
  • 3:40pm-4:40pm: 2026 moral/financial review and 2027 Projection Workshop
  • 4:40pm-6pm: Recognition Cocktail + Goalball exhibition match (10 min)

ACTIVITY 3 – SATURDAY DECEMBER 20, 2026 | 10AM-6PM | NABC HEADQUARTERS
CHRISTMAS IN COLORS – For the visually impaired and their families

Theme: “The light of Christmas is felt, protected and moves”

Agenda:

  • 10am-11am: Eye Health Component – Parent-child workshop: “How to protect my child’s eyes?”
  • 11am-2pm: Sports & Artistic Component – Inclusive Christmas Olympics: Family Goalball, guided parent-child race, fun games, dance, songs, community meal
  • 2pm-6pm: Gift giving, eye health kits (filtering glasses) and sports kits (audible balls) + donations.

Each major activity now systematically integrates a time for eye health awareness AND a time for adapted physical activity.
