ANAC is actively committed across five major strategic axes for the independence of its members.
Rights Advocacy
Defend and promote the fundamental rights of blind and partially sighted persons in Cameroon, in line with national and international conventions.
Fraternal Solidarity
Strengthen solidarity and fraternal unity among our members by creating a space for mutual support and active participation.
Economic Inclusion
Foster socio-economic inclusion through tailored vocational training programs, both nationally and internationally, to ensure autonomy and employability.
Holistic Development
Contribute to the holistic development of our members—morally, intellectually, and culturally.
Regional Deployment
Promote across Cameroon's 10 regions the practice of sports, arts, and information and communication technologies, by supporting the creation and growth of specialized training centers.
Key Achievements of ANAC
Since its establishment, ANAC has delivered concrete actions for blind and partially sighted persons.
Rights advocacy and promotion
Dissemination of national and international legal instruments on disability, including the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Promotion of Braille
Dissemination and teaching of Braille to strengthen literacy and autonomy.
Access to assistive technologies
Training and dissemination of information and communication technologies adapted for persons with visual impairments.
Establishment of a sub-regional center
Creation of the Central Africa Training Center for Assistive Technologies, hosted at Collège de la Retraite in Yaoundé.
IT equipment provision
Distribution of adapted computers to members to facilitate access to information and training.
Civic and social engagement
Active participation in efforts to promote the social, economic, and political inclusion of blind and elderly persons in Cameroon.
