It is a merger for greater impact. This Wednesday, September 10, 2026, the Bastos neighborhood in Yaound\u00e9 hosted the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding between the NGO More Women In Politics, led by Prof. Justine Diffo, and the Network of Associations of Women with Disabilities of Cameroon (RAFHCAM). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stated objective: to establish a legal framework of collaboration to end the exploitation of women with disabilities and move from promises to genuine inclusion. A ceremony marked by the end of deception and the start of a win-win partnership. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. PROCEEDINGS AND TESTIMONIALS <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Opened with welcoming remarks from RAFHCAM’s Secretary-General, the ceremony quickly took an emotional turn when Mrs. Odette Juimo, the President, took the floor. <\/p>\n\n\n

In her highly anticipated address focusing on the humanitarian aspect, Prof. Justine Diffo reiterated the need to build upon past actions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key moment: leading the song ‘Special Day’, sung in unison by the female audience, she praised the long-standing mentorship binding her to her colleagues, emphasizing that no protocol or status had been violated. She paid a warm tribute to Odette Juimo for her constant advocacy in ensuring gender and sociological components are taken into account in her initiatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the participants, ‘it is a special feeling, a historical day to break down certain prejudices and emerge from obscurity.’ All insisted on the need to be strong, united, and to put an end to the string of broken promises. The message is clear: the place of women with disabilities is now within decision-making circles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. STAKES, PROTOCOL, AND OUTLOOK <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the symbolism, the signed agreement lays the concrete foundation for collaboration. It provides for the organization of mentorship sessions and the inclusion of women with disabilities across multiple activity sectors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financially, the text is explicit: each party covers the financial commitments tied to its participation. In the event of joint partner outreach, an addendum will be signed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most anticipated measure remains the commitment to partial or full scholarships for women, girls, and young people with disabilities. A solemn promise was made to help the largest possible number of vulnerable groups gain access to the university that hosted the ceremony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership, formalized under a new NGO status with an array of activities, has the ultimate goal of fighting discrimination. A new chapter begins where, as Prof. Diffo concluded, we must ‘put passion into everything we do.’ <\/p>\n\n\n\n
